Social Work is a practice-based profession with a rich history, employing unique methods and techniques to address a wide range of human issues in social, economic, cultural, environmental, health, and livelihood contexts. Practitioners in this field must possess the necessary knowledge, principles, skills, and ethical standards.
Kannur University's Four-Year Undergraduate Program (FYUGP) in Social Work is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for a career in this field. The curriculum combines classroom learning with hands-on field experience.
Graduates of the FYUGP in Social Work will be prepared for employment in various government, non-government, and private sector programs, focusing on community development, counseling, health, women's and children's development, natural resource management, disaster relief, and corporate social responsibility. Additionally, students will have opportunities for self-employment in areas like guidance centers and project consultancy.
