Overview

BCA Students Association of Navajyothi College(BCASA-NJC)is a platform forstudents to develop social, educational, and leadership skills. The association came into being on 14/01/2014 with the vision of providing opportunities for students to indulge in the community by confidently contributing their best to achieve positive change,exhibit their teamwork and coordination effectively. As a student association of Navajyothi College BCASA is enthusiastic in conditioning values to students undergoing the course of BCA.

The aims and objects of the Association are:
  • To foster and promote good relationships among the members, students of the first, second, and third-year BCA Class.
  • To create in members a keen interest for the smooth working of the college and for maintaining good discipline and high academic standards.
  • To conduct departmental, intracollegiate, intercollegiate events the rules and policies of Navajyothi College and Department of Computer Studies.
  • To ensure the participation of all members of BCASA for all activities conducted by the association.
  • To collect subscriptions, donations, gifts, etc., from members, non-members, and the other institutions for furthering the aims and objects of the association.
  • To institute scholarships, prizes, medals, etc., to benefit students showing high proficiency in their studies.
Memberships
  • All the students on the rolls of the BCA Classes during a year shall be eligible to be members of the Association.
  • The first-year BCA students can become a member only after paying Membership fees.
  • When a student is removed from the rolls of the College the student shall automatically cease to be a member of the Association.
  • The teaching staff of the Computer Studies department shall automatically be members of the Association.
Administration
  • The administration of the Association shall vest in an executive committee, hereinafter referred to as the Committee, elected for the purpose.
  • The Committee shall consist of:
    • A President
    • A Vice President
    • A Secretary
    • Treasurer elected from among the members
    • Two co-ordinators from each class maintaining the representation from boys and girls,
    • one department coordinator from the teaching staff
  • The term of office of the Committee shall be for one year (the year for the purpose shall be the calendar year)
  • A Committee once elected shall continue to hold office till a new committee assumes charge.
Powers and responsibilities of the Executive Committee
  • Subject to the approval of the General Body of the Association the Committee shall have the following powers:
  • To manage all affairs of the Association, to incur and meet all necessary expenses and do all such acts as are not inconsistent with these rules;
    • To enlist members.
    • To hold meetings of the Committee at least once in a term or oftener if deemed necessary.
    • To periodically check the registers and the other records of the Association and to scrutinize the statement of accounts.
    • To scrutinize the annual report, the audited statement of accounts for the year and budget proposed for the ensuing year are to be placed before the General Body.
    • To implement all decisions taken by the General Body.
    • To suggest amendments to any of the existing rules and to frame new rules for considerate of the General Body.
